    Getting a new appliance can be daunting, and the control panels on some units can appear a bit overwhelming at first, but thankfully there are resources at our disposal that can be used to help get us up and running with our appliances.

    Every manufacturer is different and has different names for different features, but one thing they all have in common is a desire to make our user experience as intuitive as possible—so don’t fret!

    Resource 1 – Kelly’s Website

    While our stores are not manned 24/7, our website is up and running all the time. Most items listed on their unique product page will have a detailed list of specifications and documentation. On any product’s page, simply scroll down until you see the Quick Specs section along with various others.

    The Documents section will generally contain the owner’s manual, spec sheets, and control guides.

    Resource 2 – The Manufacturer

    All major brands will have contract information listed online and on the appliance itself. If you find you are stuck with a feature of your appliance or do not know how something works, sometimes it’s as simple as reaching out to the manufacturer for assistance.

    A lot of manufacturers are moving away from paper booklets and printed materials that ship with appliances, so sometimes the best bet is to talk to a live person or use the resources listed above to get a digital copy of a specific guide or spec sheet.

    Resource 3 – Google

    When in doubt, Google can be the best resource to help track down info on your appliance. All it takes is Googling a specific appliance’s model number and you will generally get a lot of helpful results. You can also try narrowing the search by asking Google to search something like “[model number] control guide” or “[model number] spec sheet.”

    Resource 4 – Ask While You Shop

    If you are in the process of buying an appliance, ask your salesperson what they recommend you keep an eye out for feature-wise. By starting early in the process, you can get some hands-on, “live” help that you can take home and leverage.
