Since we have been in Salem for so long, we know all about the local restaurants and would love to share some of our favorite family-owned businesses.
Check out our favorite local restaurants:
Roger that BBQ strives to be the BEST BBQ restaurant in Salem, Oregon and they are doing such a great job making a name for themselves. Roger that BBQ is located in West Salem and is in a converted church building turned restaurant.
Their website states, “At Roger That BBQ our passion is barbecue, from our hand-picked choice of local meats to our homemade sauces. Our goal is to give you a BBQ restaurant experience in Salem, Or. like never before.”
Amadeus located in Salem, Oregon prides itself on being a “fork to mouth” restaurant. They proudly share that they “focus on high quality, locally sourced, flavorful foods.”
The Wild Pear is located in downtown Salem, Oregon and is located just a few blocks away from the River Front Park. The Wild Pear restaurant was started by the Ritter sisters in 2000. They decided they wanted to put their talents of cooking and hospitality to good use.
According to their website, “you can always be assured of the Wild Pear experience of quality food, service, & environment. From Northwest regional cuisine to heritage-inspired dishes, Wild Pear takes pride in using local seasonal ingredients in their familiar, yet unexpected dishes that reflect the diverse cultural background of the founders.”
Annettes is a family-owned restaurant that is local in the Historic Kingwood building in West Salem on Edgewater. You can go into Annettes for their amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t feel like eating? Head on into their quaint bar to socialize.
Sassy Onion is a locally owned restaurant that was established in 2002. They offer amazing dine-in and catering for Salem, Oregon residents. If you are looking for an amazing breakfast or lunch head on into the Sassy Onion.
Their first location was on State Street and then a second location was created on Market Street in order to serve more loyal customers.
After the Ritter sisters successfully ran the Wild Pear they decided to open up another restaurant in downtown Salem called Ritters’ Housemade Foods. Ritter’s proudly shares, “Our love of food, family and community are the backbone of Ritter’s Housemade Foods. We wanted to create a place where people can gather, eat good food and share in community. We are committed to our locale and strive to highlight the best of what the Willamette Valley has to offer.”
Looking for international cuisines? Marco Polo is the perfect place for you! They offer a wide variety of international cuisines such as Chinese and European menus. They also offer a full vegetarian and gluten-free menu.
